Seth

About Me:

I was born and raised in southeast Iowa and began my career with Brown’s Shoe Fit as the assistant manager in Fairfield. Since then, I have moved around throughout Iowa and Illinois with the company but have been the manager of the Burlington location since 2014. 

When not at my store, you can usually find me spending time with my family. My wife, Katie, and I have three children who keep us busy with all their sports and activities. I love spending time outdoors as well, whether it be hunting, fishing, or just working around on our farm.

A Local Legacy

Brown’s Shoe Fit Burlington has only had 3 owners since we opened in 1960. Pictured here is the original owner Jerry Smith, with his son, Russ (owner #2), and their entire staff welcoming in the 3rd and current owner, Seth Laux.

Over the years I’ve been given the opportunity to train other potential store owners. Customer service is huge to me, and I really do want to make every customer feel like they had the best experience possible when they visit our store. I take pride in training my staff to become knowledgeable about the proper fitting for customers and what product would be best for them.  I have loved being able to see some of my former assistants now become owners/managers of their own stores.
