What the Q3 2026 Numbers Tell Us
- BRUNT has taken over. One brand sold more than four in ten work pairs and every style in the top eight.
- Comfort sells on the job site. Cushioned, lightweight boots like the BRUNT Marin and athletic work shoes like the Keen Utility Vista Energy are what workers are reaching for.
- Composite is the new standard. Composite toes made up 68.4% of best-seller pairs, far ahead of alloy and carbon fiber.
- Waterproof matters. Most of the top styles are waterproof, a must for Midwest mud, rain, and snow.
- Work is growing. Work pairs sold grew 13.2% while many casual categories were flat, a sign of how much workers depend on a good pair of boots.
How to Choose the Right Work Boot
- Know your job site rules. Many employers require an ASTM-rated safety toe, electrical hazard protection, or a metatarsal guard. Check before you buy.
- Pick your toe. Composite toes are light and do not conduct cold. Alloy and steel toes are thinner. Soft toes are best when protection is not required.
- Lace-up or pull-on. Lace-ups like the BRUNT Marin give a locked-in fit and ankle support. Pull-ons like the BRUNT Ohman and Irish Setter Marshall are fast on and off.
- Go waterproof for outdoor work. Wet feet are cold, tired feet.
- Get fitted at the end of the day. Feet swell during a shift. A Brown’s fitter can measure length, width, and arch so your boots fit when it counts.
That is where a Brown’s fitting makes the difference. Our fitters measure both feet, ask about your job, and help you find a boot that protects you and keeps you comfortable all shift long. It is the same expert fitting we have always done, in 73 stores across the Central United States.
