Meet the Crew at Brown’s Shoe Fit Co. Ada, OK

Behind every well-fitted pair of shoes at our Ada store is a team that genuinely loves what they do — and who they do it with. Led by Store Manager Kyle Stock, this crew brings together decades of combined shoe-fitting know-how, a small army of East Central University runners, two siblings who somehow ended up on the same sales floor, and at least one certified therapy dog waiting at home. Here’s a closer look at the people who make the Ada store feel like home.

Meet the Manager

Kyle Stock leads the Ada team as Store Manager.

Kyle has been part of the Brown’s Shoe Fit family for 13 years, and this past winter he brought all of that experience to Ada, where he’s now seven months into building a new home base. Ask him what keeps him going after over a decade in the business, and he won’t talk about shoes first — he’ll talk about people. “Creating relationships with every customer that comes in” is what he loves most about the job. “Everyone has their own story, and I love becoming a part of those stories! Whether it is helping them find a shoe, or just becoming a friend who cares about what is going on in their lives.”

That philosophy shows up most with the customers who walk in convinced they’re a lost cause — the self-proclaimed “tough to fit feet” crowd. After 13 years, Kyle has seen it all, and he says the moments that stick with him most are “working with them till we find that perfect fit and watching them walk out the store in their new shoes.”

Outside the store, Kyle and his wife share their home with two very good boys: Harry, a German Shepherd who moonlights as a certified therapy dog, and Marvin, a German Shepherd–Rottweiler mix. Kyle’s other passion is a little quieter — he’s built a vinyl record collection that’s climbed into the hundreds, literally too many to count. As for what he wants Ada to know about him: he’s not just here to sell shoes. He’s genuinely excited to become part of this community — to get to know the neighborhoods, the regulars, and the stories that make Ada what it is.

His current go-to shoes: New Balance lifestyle sneakers and LEMS Barefoot shoes.

Meet the Team

Kim Guess Kim has been part of the Brown’s family for eight years, and what keeps her coming back is simple: customers who leave saying she helped them find exactly what they needed. In her time in Ada she’s worked under six different managers — Kyle is the latest — and she says she’s genuinely enjoyed every one of them, each bringing their own ideas and favorite brands through the door. At home, Kim is mom to three daughters, including a set of twins, who run both a food truck (burgers are the specialty) and a bakery for custom cakes — Kim’s happy place is helping them dream up new flavors and designs. The family are regular greeters at CrossPoint Church. Her favorite brands: Hoka, On, and New Balance, though she’ll tell you it’s nearly impossible to pick just one shoe.

Haley Ellison Haley has been fitting Ada customers for two years while carrying a full course load at East Central University, where she runs track and studies to become a biology teacher. She loves learning about all the different shoe types Brown’s carries — and admits the employee discount doesn’t hurt either. One story that’s followed her ever since: after helping a customer find the perfect pair of Hokas, he asked for her name, and hearing “Haley” declared, “Just like the comet!” Now he brings up Halley’s Comet every single time he walks through the door. Fun fact: Haley’s the face (and hands) behind most of the store’s TikToks — and yes, Michael, just below, is her little brother. Her favorite everyday shoes are the On Cloud X5, Cloudmonster, and Cloudsurfer Max; her favorite running shoe is the Hoka Mach 7.

Michael Ellison Michael has been part of the Ada team for nine months, also running track at East Central University after a high school career that landed him at the state meet every single year. He loves talking with customers and making real connections while helping them find the right fit. His most memorable moment on the job: helping a woman who’d struggled for years to find shoes that actually fit — she teared up when they finally found the right pair, telling him she’d tried everywhere else before coming to their store. Michael is a freshman at ECU working toward becoming an oral surgeon. His favorite shoe: the Brooks Hyperion Elite.

Alyssa Delgado Alyssa joined the Ada team six months ago and spends her off hours at the gym or in class at East Central University, where she’s studying to become a social worker. She loves getting to know customers well enough that they come back and ask for her by name. Her most memorable fitting: tracking down the perfect sandal for a customer to wear to her granddaughter’s wedding — one that happened to match her dress exactly. One quick correction she’d love customers to know: her name is pronounced “Aliza,” not “Alyssa.” Her favorite shoes: New Balance, from lifestyle sneakers to running shoes.

Isaiah Blevins Isaiah is one of Ada’s newest team members, just two weeks in, and he’s already putting his athletic background to work. He runs cross country and track at East Central University, where he’s earned three state titles, and that competitive background gives him a real appreciation for a properly fitting shoe. He previously spent two years at a running specialty store in the Oklahoma City area, so he walked in with running-shoe expertise most new hires don’t have. His favorite shoe: the Brooks Glycerin Max.

Adrienne Rustin Adrienne is Ada’s newest addition, just three weeks in, but she’s already made her mark — on only her second day, she helped a customer find two pairs of shoes without needing any help from a coworker. Outside the store, she’s hiked the Grand Canyon and is chasing a bigger goal: running all six World Marathon Majors. She’ll knock out her fourth next April in London. Her philosophy on life: running and ice cream go together perfectly, and she’s not wrong. Her favorite brands: New Balance, Hoka, and Mount to Coast.
